A rich and easy-to-make salted caramel filling that adds a sweet and savory flavor to desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until golden brown.
  2. Carefully add the butter and stir until melted.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously until smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
  5. Allow to cool before using as a filling or topping.

Notes

Store leftover filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Reheat gently before using.
