Homemade Pear Jam

A simple and delicious pear jam capturing the essence of ripe pears, with hints of lemon and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped pears
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 packet pectin

Instructions

  1. Combine pears and lemon juice in a large pot.
  2. Add sugar and stir until pears are well coated.
  3. Extract the juices by letting the mixture sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Stir in pectin and add cinnamon if desired. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
  6. Sterilize jars by boiling or placing them in an oven.
  7. Cool the jars to room temperature after filling them with jam.

Notes

Store in sealed jars in the refrigerator for up to 3 months or in a cool, dark pantry for up to a year.
