A delightful dessert featuring a buttery crust filled with juicy peaches, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 68 peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press half of the dough into the bottom of a baking sheet.
  4. Combine peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and lemon juice in another bowl.
  5. Spread the peach mixture over the crust.
  6. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the peaches.
  7. Brush with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Adding vanilla ice cream or whipped cream enhances the experience.
