Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add brown sugar, 1/2 cup soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.
  6. Add the green onions and cook for an additional minute.
  7. Serve warm over rice or noodles.

Notes

Slice flank steak against the grain for tenderness. Don’t skip marinating for added flavor.
