  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef or sausage
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or sausage with the onion and garlic until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the marinara sauce and diced tomatoes to the meat mixture; simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the cottage cheese, sour cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a large baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, half of the meat mixture, and half of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining spaghetti, meat mixture, and cheese mixture.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
