These soft and fluffy honey buns are drenched in sticky honey goodness, perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup honey (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to 110°F to activate the yeast.
  2. Combine the warm milk, honey, melted butter, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  3. Sprinkle the instant yeast over the mixture and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  4. Whisk in the egg until blended.
  5. Gradually add flour, mixing as you go.
  6. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  7. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
  8. Punch down, roll into a rectangle, cut into strips and shape into buns.
  9. Arrange the honey buns in a greased dish and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Drizzle with extra honey while warm.
  13. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Leftover honey buns can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven before serving.
