A delightful twist on a classic dessert, perfect for breakfast or dessert with its rich, creamy, buttery texture and hints of vanilla and cinnamon.

  • 4 leftover croissants
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Caramel sauce (for serving)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in the baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the croissants, ensuring they are all coated.
  5. Allow the mixture to soak for about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
  7. Serve warm topped with a drizzle of caramel sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for the best texture. Feel free to add in chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit for added flavor and texture.
