A comforting casserole that captures the essence of classic stuffed cabbage rolls without the hassle of rolling.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the onions in a large skillet with olive oil until translucent.
  3. Brown the ground beef or turkey in the skillet until cooked through.
  4. Combine the chopped cabbage, cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, paprika, salt, and pepper in the skillet.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
