Decadent triple chocolate mousse domes with layers of dark, milk, and white chocolate, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate
  • 4 ounces white chocolate
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup gelatin
  • Crisp base or soft sponge for serving

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark, milk, and white chocolate in separate bowls over a double boiler. Stir gently until completely smooth, then set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. The cream should hold its shape but remain fluffy and airy.
  3. Whisk the eggs and sugar in another bowl until pale and fluffy, nearly doubling in volume.
  4. Combine the melted chocolate into the egg mixture along with the vanilla extract, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently, repeating this for each chocolate layer separately.
  6. Prepare the gelatin according to package instructions using the water, then mix it into the chocolate mousse.
  7. Layer the dark chocolate mousse in dome molds, followed by the milk and white chocolate mousse on top.
  8. Chill the mousse domes for at least 3-4 hours until fully set.
  9. Unmold the mousse domes and serve them on a crispy base or soft sponge.
  10. Garnish optionally with chocolate sauce or shavings.
