A creamy and decadent tiramisu that captures the rich flavors of coffee and sweet mascarpone, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Whisking the Eggs and Sugar: In a saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until the mixture is thick and pale. Add the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Set aside to cool.
  2. Folding in the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold it into the cooled egg mixture, followed by the mascarpone cheese.
  3. Preparing the Coffee Mixture: In a shallow dish, combine the cooled brewed espresso with coffee liqueur (if using).
  4. Dipping the Ladyfingers: Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture, being careful not to soak them too long.
  5. Layering the Tiramisu: Lay half of the dipped ladyfingers in a dish and spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Chilling for Perfection: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
  7. Finishing Touches: Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Notes

Letting the dessert chill overnight enhances the flavors. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
