Sweet Cinnamon Twists

Delicious and easy sweet cinnamon twists made with puff pastry or crescent roll dough, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry or Crescent Roll Dough
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Melted Unsalted Butter
  • Powdered Sugar (Confectioners’ Sugar)
  • Milk (or Cream)
  • Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace & preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the dough onto your prepared baking sheet or a floured surface.
  3. Brush the dough with half of your melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle three-quarters of your cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough.
  5. Fold the dough in half lengthwise (if using puff pastry) and press to seal the edges.
  6. Cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips.
  7. Twist each strip several times to create the spiral shape.
  8. Place the twisted strips onto a baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  9. Brush the tops with remaining melted butter and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
  10. Bake for 12-18 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over cooled twists and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month. For a dairy-free option, use coconut oil instead of butter.
