Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry mixture from step 2 gradually into the wet ingredients.
  6. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into small balls and place them on baking sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden.
  9. Cool on wire racks before enjoying.
