A savory Italian meatloaf stuffed with cheese and fresh spinach, topped with marinara sauce for a comforting and flavorful meal.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped spinach, egg, and Italian herbs in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Form the meat mixture into a rectangular shape on parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture.
  5. Roll the meatloaf tightly using the parchment or plastic wrap.
  6. Prepare a baking dish and place the rolled meatloaf seam-side down; pour marinara sauce over the top.
  7. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Slice and serve after resting for 10 minutes.

Notes

Don’t skip the resting period to retain moisture. Feel free to add crushed red pepper flakes for added spice.
