Stuffed Italian Meatloaf

A delightful twist on a classic meatloaf, stuffed with gooey mozzarella and topped with rich marinara sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, Italian seasoning, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Create a cavity in the middle of the loaf and stuff it with additional mozzarella cheese.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  7. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or a simple garden salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
