A delightful dessert featuring fresh strawberries and Jell-O, perfect for summer occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of strawberry Jell-O mix
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 2 cups of fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup of whipped cream or whipped topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the cake mix package instructions. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake according to package directions.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  5. Using a fork, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
  6. Dissolve the strawberry Jell-O mix in boiling water, then stir in the cold water.
  7. Pour the Jell-O mixture over the cake, ensuring it fills the holes.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  9. Before serving, top with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure that you poke the holes deep enough to allow the Jell-O to soak in. You can also experiment with different fruits.
