Deliciously soft and sweet cinnamon rolls filled with strawberry cream, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup strawberries, pureed
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Heat Wet Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, gently heat the milk, water, and melted butter until warm, then add this mixture to your dry ingredients along with the egg.
  3. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Let it rest until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Roll It Out: Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, spread the pureed strawberries and cream cheese mixture over it, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  5. Create the Rolls: Carefully roll the dough tightly and slice it into pieces, placing them in a baking dish. Let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake to Perfection: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Glaze & Serve: Drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.

Notes

For a crusty top, brush the rolls with melted butter before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
