A delightful dessert combining rich chocolate and fresh strawberries, perfect for celebrations or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache or melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water until well combined (batter will be thin).
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then remove from pans to cool completely.
  7. Layer the cooled cakes with sliced strawberries and chocolate ganache in between.
  8. Frost the top and sides with remaining chocolate ganache, and decorate with more strawberries.
  9. Chill until set and serve.

Notes

Use high-quality cocoa for a richer flavor and adjust the amount of strawberries based on preference.
