A flavor-packed dish combining lean ground turkey with a spicy bang bang sauce over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Rinse and cook the rice: Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch. Combine with 2 cups of water; boil, then simmer for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the olive oil: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Sauté aromatics: Add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Cook the turkey: Add the ground turkey and break it into pieces, cooking until browned.
  5. Combine flavors: Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of sriracha, and honey. Simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Make the bang bang sauce: Whisk together mayonnaise, remaining sriracha, and honey in a small bowl.
  7. Assemble the bowls: Divide cooked rice among bowls, top with turkey mixture, and drizzle with bang bang sauce.
  8. Garnish each bowl with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground turkey with chickpeas or a meat alternative. Adjust spice levels according to heat preference.
