A delightful tribute to the South, this Southern Banana Cobbler combines sweet, ripe bananas with a buttery topping, perfect for a comforting dessert.

  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix the sliced bananas with half of the sugar and layer them in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  3. Combine the melted butter, flour, remaining sugar, milk, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract in another bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the batter over the bananas in your baking dish, making sure it covers them evenly.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
