  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide ground beef into 4-ounce balls.
  3. Place the balls on the hot skillet and smash them down with a spatula.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper while cooking.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crispy crust forms, then flip.
  6. Place a slice of cheese on top, if using, to melt.
  7. Toast the buns on the skillet for about 1 minute.
  8. Assemble the burger with your favorite toppings and serve.
