A comforting slow cooker version of Salisbury steak with savory beef, mushrooms, and creamy sauce that’s perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 8 ounces mushroom slices
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form the mixture into patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  3. Add the beef broth, onion soup mix, and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Pour the broth and mushroom mixture over the browned patties in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  5. Stir in the sour cream before serving and heat through. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For extra spice, consider adding hot sauce or your favorite seasoning blend. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
