A delightful mix of tender flank steak slow-cooked in a savory-sweet sauce with garlic and ginger, perfect for busy weekdays or leisurely weekends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs flank steak, sliced thin
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the Sauce: In a slow cooker, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a flavorful base.
  2. Add the Beef and Onions: Add the sliced flank steak and onion to the slow cooker. Stir gently until the steak and onions are well coated in the sauce.
  3. Slow Cook to Tender Perfection: Cover and cook on low for 240-360 minutes or until the beef is tender and easy to shred.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions for a vibrant finish.

Notes

Slice the meat against the grain for tenderness. Adjust spice level to taste. Fresh garlic and ginger yield the best flavors.
