A delightful Seafood Gratin featuring juicy shrimp and scallops enveloped in a creamy sauce and topped with a golden cheese crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 g Shrimp (Peeled and deveined)
  • 200 g Scallops (Fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (For sautéing)
  • 1 medium Onion (Chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
  • 200 ml Heavy cream (For the creamy sauce)
  • 50 ml White grape juice (Adds sweetness to the sauce)
  • 50 g Grated cheese (For topping; use your favorite cheese)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper (To taste)

Instructions

  1. Gather your fresh seafood. If using frozen seafood, ensure it’s completely thawed–rinse under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Sauté the aromatics by melting butter in a large skillet over medium heat, adding chopped onion and minced garlic, and cooking until translucent.
  3. Cook the seafood by adding the shrimp and scallops to the skillet, cooking until shrimp is pink and scallops are opaque.
  4. Simmer in sweetness by pouring in white grape juice and letting it simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Combine creamy goodness by stirring in heavy cream, salt, and black pepper until blended.
  6. Prepare for baking by transferring the seafood mixture into a baking dish and sprinkling cheese on top.
  7. Bake the gratin in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for optimal texture.
