Indulge in these rich, buttery cookies filled with gooey caramel and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for the perfect sweet and salty treat.

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel chips
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips.
  8. Scoop the dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Sprinkle a bit of flaky sea salt over each dough ball.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  11. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
