Decadent cookies filled with rich chocolate and creamy caramel, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt for the perfect balance.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel candies, cut into small pieces
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add this to the butter mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and caramel pieces gently.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use softened butter and don’t skip the sea salt on top for added flavor.
