Delicate French macarons showcasing red, white, and blue colors, filled with a creamy vanilla buttercream, perfect for summer celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 3 large whipped egg whites
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 batch vanilla buttercream (approximately 1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line your macaron baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the almond flour and whipped egg whites in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Split the mixture in half; add red food coloring to one half and blue to the other.
  4. Pipe the red and blue macaron shells onto your prepared baking sheets in even circles, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the shells are firm and no longer sticky.
  6. Whip up your vanilla buttercream while the shells are baking.
  7. Assemble by piping buttercream on one macaron shell and sandwiching it with another shell.
  8. Rest the assembled macarons in the refrigerator overnight for flavor fusion.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 4-5 days. Use parchment paper to separate layers.
