  • 3 large whipped egg whites
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 batch vanilla buttercream (approximately 1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line your macaron baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine almond flour and whipped egg whites until you have a smooth mixture.
  3. Split the mixture in half. Add red food coloring to one half and blue food coloring to the other.
  4. Pipe the red and blue macaron shells onto your prepared baking sheets in even circles.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the shells are firm and no longer sticky to the touch.
  6. Whip up your vanilla buttercream to a fluffy, creamy texture.
