Deliciously rich and fudgy Red Velvet Brownies that bring a stunning twist to the classic red velvet cake.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in the red food coloring.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or dust with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container, at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
