Delightful raspberry cream cheese swirl rolls that are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack. These soft, fluffy rolls are filled with creamy goodness and tangy raspberry jam.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing, optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for icing, optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl: flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan until warm, but not boiling.
  3. Add the warm milk mixture and egg to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. Spread cream cheese evenly over the dough.
  8. Layer raspberry jam on top of the cream cheese.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
  10. Slice the log into pieces and place in a greased baking dish.
  11. Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  13. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  14. Mix powdered sugar with vanilla and milk for optional icing to drizzle over the baked rolls.

Notes

These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze wrapped tightly for up to a month.
