A classic French dish featuring crispy bacon and creamy Swiss cheese baked into a flaky crust, perfect for brunch or a cozy dinner.

  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, crack in the 4 large eggs and pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. Whisk until fully combined.
  3. Fold in the crumbled bacon and shredded Swiss cheese, adding chopped green onions if desired.
  4. Carefully pour the mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Slide your filled pie crust into the oven and bake at 425°F for 15 minutes.
  6. After 15 minutes, reduce the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and continue baking for an additional 30-35 minutes, until the quiche is set.
  7. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Pair with a fresh mixed green salad and a chilled glass of white wine for a delightful meal. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
