Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • Toppings (e.g., diced onions, chopped cilantro, salsa, avocado)

Instructions

  1. Combine the chicken breasts, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a slow cooker.
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  3. Shred the chicken in the slow cooker using two forks.
  4. Warm the tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing shredded chicken on each tortilla and adding desired toppings.

Notes

For easier shredding, let the chicken cool for a few minutes after cooking. Don’t skip the tortilla warming step.
