A classic Philadelphia cheesesteak featuring tender ribeye steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and gooey cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 23 hoagie rolls
  • Cheese (provolone or Cheez Whiz), to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat up the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell pepper, sauté until softened and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
  3. Push the vegetables to the side, making room for the ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper and cook for about 4-5 minutes until browned.
  4. Mix the browned steak with softened veggies for a couple more minutes on the heat.
  5. Spoon the meat and veggie mixture into the hoagie rolls.
  6. Optional: Place filled rolls under a broiler for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, consider using BBQ sauce or different cheeses like pepper jack or sharp cheddar. Leftover filling can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
