A classic dish featuring tender filet mignon topped with a rich and creamy peppercorn sauce, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 Filet Mignon steaks
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon peppercorns, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the filet mignon steaks with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove and let rest.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Cook until fragrant.
  5. Add crushed peppercorns and beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and simmer until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve the steaks topped with the creamy peppercorn sauce and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Let the steaks come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness; 135°F (57°C) is perfect for medium-rare.
