A delightful way to preserve the fresh taste of ripe pears, this pear jam is easy to make and perfect for spreading.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 package pectin
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop the pears.
  2. In a pot, combine pears, sugar, lemon juice, and water.
  3. Cook over medium heat until the pears soften and release their juice.
  4. Stir in pectin and continue to boil for a few minutes until thickened.
  5. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
  6. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator or canning.

Notes

Choose ripe pears for the best flavor. Ensure your jars are sterilized to prevent spoilage.
