These decadent Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies combine fudgy chocolate with creamy peanut butter for an indulgent treat that’s easy to make.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually stir into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
  5. Melt peanut butter in a small bowl in the microwave for 20-30 seconds until smooth.
  6. Swirl half of the melted peanut butter into the brownie layer with a knife or toothpick.
  7. Finish by pouring the remaining brownie batter on top and dolloping the rest of the peanut butter over it, swirling again.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
