  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Red and blue sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter, white sugar, and egg in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract and almond extract.
  5. Blend in the dry ingredients from the small bowl gradually.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork and sprinkle with red and blue sugar sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are light golden in color.
  9. Let the cookies cool on wire racks before serving.
