A smooth and luscious orange curd perfect for spreading on pastries or mixing into yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Combine juice, zest, and sugar in a medium saucepan.
  2. Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl until frothy.
  3. Transfer the egg mixture into the saucepan with the orange blend and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Add the butter pieces and stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Strain the curd through a fine mesh sieve into a clean container.
  6. Cool the curd before sealing it in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for three months.
