  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cardamom in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the orange juice, zest, and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar or glaze before serving.
