Delicious oatmeal raisin cookies with a chewy texture and sweet bursts of raisins.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture gradually, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in the old-fashioned oats and raisins.
  7. Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space in between.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  9. Cool on wire racks after baking.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. For extra flavor, add nuts or chocolate chips.
