A heartwarming dish of fried cabbage, potatoes, and bacon that brings memories of childhood and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. Add the butter and onions to the skillet, cooking until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the diced potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the cabbage is tender and the potatoes are golden, about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the crispy bacon and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently.
