  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 4 soft buttery buns
  • Pickles
  • Creamy slaw

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 120 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture to coat.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the fried chicken on soft buttery buns topped with pickles and creamy slaw.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate chicken overnight. Adjust cayenne pepper and hot sauce for desired heat. Ensure oil is hot for a crispy coating.
