Indulge in these decadent Chocolate Mousse Brownies with a rich brownie base and fluffy chocolate mousse topping.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the melted butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Incorporate the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder until well blended.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  6. Whip the chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  7. Melt the semisweet chocolate with milk over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  8. Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream gently.
  9. Assemble by spreading the mousse over the cooled brownie layer.
  10. Chill for at least three hours before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze brownies without mousse for up to 2 months.
