  • 4 buttery croissants
  • 1 cup smoky ham, diced
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Butter a baking dish generously to ensure easy removal and a golden crust.
  3. Tear the croissants into bite-sized pieces and layer them in the buttered baking dish.
  4. Add the diced ham and shredded Swiss cheese on top of the croissant layer.
  5. Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and mustard until blended.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring every piece is soaked; let it absorb for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Customize with your favorite cheeses or add veggies for extra flavor. Letting the mixture soak longer will yield a creamier texture.
