A delightful and easy dish combining fresh mixed berries with a sweet, warm oat topping, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Optional: powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the mixed berries in a mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. Mix the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  4. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  5. Pour the berry mixture into a greased baking dish, then pour the oat mixture over the berries.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in cinnamon or nutmeg to the oat mixture. Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
