  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy in another bowl.
  4. Beat in the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool before serving.

Notes

For a thicker crinkle effect, roll cookies in powdered sugar twice. You can add chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
