Lemon Brownies are a delightful blend of zesty lemon and rich buttery goodness, perfect for any gathering.

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl. Stir in the sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl; gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies, then cut into squares.
