Delightful lemon bars with a sweet and tangy flavor, resting on a buttery crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
  2. Mix flour and powdered sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes.
  4. Whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and baking powder in another bowl.
  5. Pour the lemon mixture over the baked crust.
  6. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, until set.
  7. Let cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use fresh lemons for the best flavor. Make sure the crust is golden brown and let the bars cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
