Refreshing Key Lime Bars with a tangy flavor and a sweet graham cracker crust, enhanced by coconut flakes for a tropical touch.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsweetened coconut flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ¾ cup fresh key lime juice
  • Zest of 2 limes
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, coconut flakes (if using), sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest in another bowl until well combined.
  5. Pour this mixture over the cooled crust.
  6. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the filling is set.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled for a refreshing treat. Pair with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
