A deliciously rich and buttery cake filling infused with Kahlua coffee liqueur, perfect for cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (for chocolate flavor, optional)

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.
  3. Pour in the Kahlua and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Add heavy cream if a thinner consistency is desired.
  4. If using cocoa powder for a chocolate version, mix it in until fully incorporated.
  5. Use immediately to fill or frost cakes and cupcakes, or refrigerate for later use.

Notes

Make sure the butter is really soft for easier mixing. Adjust the amount of powdered sugar for a sweeter filling. Add more heavy cream slowly if the mix gets too thick.
