A rich and creamy buttercream infused with Kahlua, perfect for frosting cakes and cupcakes.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (optional for chocolate flavor)

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter in a large mixing bowl until creamy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low until combined.
  3. Pour in the Kahlua, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed until smooth and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. If desired, add cocoa powder for a chocolate variation and mix until well combined.
  5. Use immediately as a filling or frosting for cakes or cupcakes.

Notes

Store any remaining buttercream in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week, and re-whip before using.
